Program:
BIM As We Know It Today: Developing the Process - Creating the Dialogue
Program Description:
The purpose of this program is to help set and manage expectations for development, implementation and measurable benefits of BIM. A panel of designers and contractors will address the disconnect (challenges) between implementation and execution; discuss the "must do" versus "nice to do" elements of the BIM process; and establish the benefit for all parties - which creates the desire for more cooperation and collaboration between design and construction.
Panel Members:
Dick McMahon (Waldinger Corporation), John Sova (RDG) and Mark Butler (HDR)
Panel Moderator:
Jonathan Widney - CEO of Solibri and co-author/ developer of the BIM curriculum for AGC of America
Topics:
• Why are you adopting BIM on your project? What is the driving reason?
• What's the hang up to sharing BIM models?
• What we're handed from the designer versus what we can use (or what we think we need).
• What changes need to happen in-house and externally to make for a successful BIM experience.
• Contractural relationships versus execution issues.
• Owner handover - what do owners want?
• How can we increase our value of the owners through adoption of BIM?
• How do we educate owners to know what they want and what really matters?
• What do we really know about BIM - especially in our mid-west market? Does it different by sectors?
